Who we are

The People Behind Italia Fabrics

Meet Beatrice

I'm a Fashion Engineer Designer with a lifelong passion for fashion that started long before I ever studied it. Growing up, fashion wasn't just something I admired from afar — it was part of my everyday life. My mother spent over 30 years as a sewing operator for prototype garments at major fashion brands in Carpi, one of Italy's most important textile districts. Watching her work, learning from her hands, understanding the patience and skill behind every single piece — that shaped everything I believe about fashion today.

I completed my diploma in fashion and later expanded my knowledge with a Master's in Fashion Engineering and Design. But honestly, some of my most important lessons came from my mother's sewing room.

Why I built this - Fashion Should Be Personal Again

Over the last 10 to 15 years, my relationship with the fashion industry has been complicated. I am deeply against fast fashion — the damage it has caused to the environment, to craftsmanship, to the very idea of what clothing means, is something I find impossible to ignore.

The famous Made in Italy is fading. And that breaks my heart.

Clothes are not just pieces of fabric thrown together in seconds. We all have different bodies, different styles, different stories. We deserve garments that are made for us — with time, with care, with real tailoring skills. Fashion should be an act of self-expression, not a disposable product.

That's why I created Italia Fabrics. A platform where passionate makers, emerging designers and creative individuals can access professional quality materials, learn real skills and build something that is truly their own — outside of fast fashion, outside of the mass market, on their own terms.

Our warehouse partner - Rooted in italian textile heritage

Our fabrics come from F.lli Malavasi Tessuti, a family business based in Fossoli di Carpi that has been part of the Italian textile world since 1959.

Now in its second generation, this historic warehouse works exclusively with Italian suppliers and is committed to sustainability, recycling old yarns to create new and original fabric designs across all categories.

Carpi is not just a location. It is the heart of Italian textile craftsmanship. Having our warehouse rooted here means every fabric on our platform carries with it decades of expertise, tradition and quality that simply cannot be replicated elsewhere.

What you can do here - This platform is yours

Italia Fabrics is more than a shop. It is a space where you can:

  • Browse and purchase premium Italian fabrics and sewing patterns
  • Follow step-by-step guides and tutorials for every skill level
  • Take courses and learn new techniques — from basic sewing to advanced tailoring
  • Get in touch to develop a complete collection and sell it online, independently and outside of fast fashion

Whether you are just starting out or ready to launch your own brand, this platform was built for you.

I want to share everything I know, everything my mother taught me, and everything this industry has given me — with anyone who has the passion to receive it.
